Policy Formation [Open - Jedi Republic]

Vald looked at the Kel-Dor. "It's just I thought studying the Force and all of it's many view points was very important, so that we may better learn about our enemies and why they think and just are the way they are." He paused for a moment and chuckling a little bit. "But, I do suppose I could carry on my studies whilst we go on this mission." He finished as he stood up, and pulling the things he was studying towards him.

"Studying is great, experience is better. Reading that rabble with make you think one way when the Galaxy is actually another way." The Kel-Dor shook his head at the young Padawan. He could already see that the Padawan was eager to learn, but he was learning from the wrong sources. It was silly, these books and holocrons that they give you offer you nothing in the ways of practicality of the Force. Malus suspected however that the Young Jedi did not adhere so greatly to the teachings of the Jedi Order, as many Jedi found themselves slipping from the dogma of the Jedi Order.

The Jedi Order had not found itself at such a crossroads since the time of the Clone Wars, it had been decades, near a century that Jedi had found themselves at the forefront of conflict and enforcing order throughout the Galaxy. The Imperial-Republic War had dwindled their numbers but the Jedi found themselves more and more force sensitives throughout the galaxy, a good thing for the Jedi but also a bad thing...not everyone was going to believe in the Jedi way...even when taken from birth. "Good, we do have a mission and it's on Coruscant so we won't go far from your precious books. We've got a situation developing outside of the Senate building where protests have formed. Come my Padawan, let us make our way to the Senate building." Malus motioned for his Padawan to follow.

Vald stood up and began to walk with the Kel-Dor. "Why exactly are they protesting so much?" He asked as he looked straight forward as they made their way out of the Jedi Library. He knew he was going to try everything in his power to stop things from escalating to much, but why would they listen to a young Padawan such as himself; maybe his newly christened Master would know how to deal with a situation like this.

"Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on who you talk to, we live in a republic and people have a voice. They use that voice, these people protesting are protesting Jedi control over the Republic. They believe that the Jedi Order has a place in the Republic but not as it's leaders. It's been thousands of years since the Jedi had held sway in the Republic, especially since they've held any sway in the senior levels of government." Malus had motioned for the young Padawan to follow him; they were off towards the Jedi Temple's landing pad which would escort them to the Senate building where the protests were taking place. Malus had been assigned to the duty of internal affairs by the Jedi Council.

Malus and his Padawan had reached the landing pad, boarded the shuttle and the short trip to the Senate building was done faster than you could say "Kessel Run" and Malus and his Padawan departed the shuttle. They were greeted by an officer in the Coruscant Security Force who informed them that a crowd of several hundred had gathered but had been relatively peaceful. The CSF officer instructed them that the Order Intelligence Agency had informed them that the Rebels had apparently sought to infiltrate the crowd and use their policy of anti-force users to cause issues. Malus leaned over to his Padawan "Be vigilant young one, the Rebels are afoot."

Vald nodded to Malus and then looked around the crowd, but he did not notice anything to out of the ordinary. Maybe it would a peaceful protest, but in these tumultuous times Vald knew anything could change in an instant even if he hadn't seen to much as of late.

"What have the Jedi said about these protests exactly?" Vald asked curiously as he still scanned the area and studying the crowd like they were one of the transcripts he was so so accustomed to studying.
